| I have to say that I had completely forgotten how charming a completely stock well maintained NA can be. Is it slow? Well, yes, relatively speaking. BUT, (and there are a few of them): It is also quiet and very comfortable. I had forgotten how pleasant and unassuming the stock exhaust sound is. (It is kind of like it says "good morning neighbours" when you start it, as opposed to "wake the Fxxx Up Biatches"). There is no noticeable drone at any RPM level. Also at idle, guess what? It idles. It rides beautifully on what I am sure is well past due suspension. I assume that this results from the relatively low unsprung weight of the 16 in wheels and the practically balloon like stock sidewalls. Once you get her rolling, the acceleration at highway speeds (so for passing for example) actually is not that bad. The manual transmission shifts beautifully, again despite a tonne of miles. Is the a result of cumulative effect of the "lack of torque" over the last 23 years? Anyways, I am sure there are more reasons, and I am sure I will be back here before long saying "Needs mo' Powa' !!!", but for now, I am just driving her around as she is until the snow flies :-)
